Pardon me putting my (very out of date) website on it — I'm just a guy who likes to build things as a hobby, and have had people start selling my designs without attribution before. :(
Each face is 138mm. I laser cut this on standard 3mm baltic birch with a cheap K40 machine.
The 3.2mm holes are for metal rivets. You can buy a kit of rivets and a rivet "gun" for <$20 at many hardware stores. Glue would probably work fine instead.
The spindle is all wavy so that it can flex in order to fit and stay inside its sockets. It would probably make more sense to just use a regular plastic toilet paper roller, but it's more fun to use wood. :)
